I only get duplicate alerts if I delete the chapter and start again at ff.net.Like you,Eggos, I'm always tweaking and the readers have only complained if I have deleted and reposted a chapter as they'd hoped for a new one. Oh, good! I haven't deleted/reinserted any chapters... I've just exported, text-edited, and replaced. So I'm good ;D. The one thing I don't like about CoE is that I have to go back through and put in all the HTML tags for italics, etc., which can just be a pain. FF.net's upgrades can be pretty wearisome, I agree... I also love how they change their writing policy nearly every month, so when I go to submit a new story it says, " YOU HAVE NOT AGREED TO OUR WRITING POLICY. YOU CANNOT SUBMIT STORIES UNTIL YOU HAVE AGREED." So then I agree, and get the " YOU HAVE AGREED TO OUR WRITING POLICY. HOWEVER, IT IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY TO KEEP UP WITH ALL CHANGES." I don't know, I just feel... antagonized? Must be the orange lettering... But HASA gets 10 out of 10 for the best game of cyber hide-and-seek ever played. I get a sense of accomplishment every time I rediscover a link.

Fanfic net somehow reminds me of the kind of park with endless "Keep of the grass, Do not touch the flowers,Do not play ball games" notices,in short a place where you are meant to have fun but the owners seem determined that you will not. They could word their rules in a more friendly fashion and warn people for a first offence rather than delete the stories and send rude e mails.
Maybe we should regard Hasa as one of those games you browselooking for clues ? I never managed to finish any of those when I used to play them !
