Hi Folks - Rosie told me to get on here and here I am, along with many of the fine fanfic writers and fans from Tolkien Online. So here is a Hi to the folks that I'm meeting for the first time and a big ;D ;D for the gang from TORC. I'm probably the oldest one here right now, pushin' 60 and a huge LOTR fan since 1968. And, like Lily, I am a belly dancer. I also study Hula (Hawaiian dance, if you are unfamiliar) . The name "Stefania" is my monikker in fandom, particularly Tolkien fandom, but it is also my dance name and the name I use for articles I've written for the belly dance community. Many of you know that I am a technical writer by profession, with little experience writing fiction--though sometimes I've had to write manuals based on engineers' dreams, not final prodouct. I like to call that process science fiction technical writing. I've written a bit of unfinished Faramir fiction that blends movie and book first. I like the raven haired one, but I particularly swoon for the red head with the big nose. I'd hope to contribute in the fiction end, but also would like to converse about other people's stuff and about the job of writing fanfiction, in general. - Steff

Hi Stef, really glad you took up the invite. Oh, and say "noble nose" - as the other way makes him sound so unattractive! *makes note to find nice profile pic*

Welcome Stef! Maybe we will get some more belly dancers to this board and what about a 1001 nights fiction? I would like to read your articles to the belly dance community. Can you email or pm me, please?

Psst, Lily - I've written articles for "Habibi" magazine over the years. The most recent stuff I wrote was from about a year ago--a tribute to Mimi Spencer, who was my singing teacher, and an article about the Belly Dance Superstars. If you have the "Habibi" with the Suheila Salimpour in a seashell bra cover, that's the one with the article on the Superstars. Several people are trying to get me to write for the Guilded Serpent web site but i just don't have the time right now. Ooo, and I had my Superstars 3 seconds of fame. A docu was made of the Superstars called "American Bellydancer." It was shown in some markets, including San Francisco. Imagine my shock when, in the course of the movie, they talked about how the BD Superstars were getting well known and showed a copy of my article. Ya coulda blinked and missed it. But there it was . Now if i could only BD like Jillina and create plots like the famous Grey Mist (sans slash, in my case). Lily, if you would like to see some .pdfs of my "Habibi" articles, I think I have most. They are mostly reviews. Says Steff, with head lowered humbly And hi to Rosie and SMOR, too.

Hey Steff! Glad to see that I'm not the only one with a thing for redheads with big noses. My icon offers a prime angle of Daisy's schnoz, if any of you would like to stare at it Wow, there are a lot of belly dancers here, aren't there? I do Irish dancing, myself

OMG. What a shot. What a red head, too. I like Dave with his red hair.
