As you see, I live in Hungary. I’m a bit nervous because here almost everyone seems to know the others quite well somehow, and I do not.
Stephania said she is probably the oldest and I seem to be the youngest with my almost (2 weeks) 16 years. I do acrobatic gymnastic (aka sportacrobatics). If any of you know what it is, please tell me. I would be delighted to hear it. I’ve only met one person who knew that and only because her friend did it.
I am a LotR fan for 6 years. I found the books on the shelf and I liked its title, so… First, I almost failed, because the beginning was boring for a ten years old child, but then… It was a new world, and since that I’m lost in it completely.
I have only one finished fanfic now. Usually, I stuck with them during writing but I love reading them.
Um… I may have problems in the future or need help because this is the first time I joined to a page like this, and writing in foreign language doesn’t make it easier. Please bear with me!

Hello laerian. Nice to see you...thanks for joining. Did you find us through one of the other message boards? I don't think you are quite the youngest, but don't worry about it anyway. We are an age-free society.

Hi, Laerien! Yes, several of us did know each other originally from another messageboard, but there's several people here I don't know from there. So don't feel left out.

Welcome Laerien. Here's a "hi" from the oldest member. As SMOR says, some of us knew each other from other boards, but not to worry. We all know each other now.

Hi Laerien!
Nice to meet you, and I DO know what acrobatic gymnastics is (will you give me a prize!)
A long, long, long, loooooooooooooong time ago, I used to be on the school gymnastics team, but we did vault, balance beam, uneven bars and floor.
I know that acrobatic gymnastics is all floor work, and you work with partners (and groups, too, I think?). It is becoming very popular in schools because it helps students to learn a lot about teamwork, as well as of course improving their balance and tempo.
In the last school I worked at, I used to coach gymnastics but only at the junior levels (handstands, handsprings, backflips, etc.). I need to do a lot more training to be able to coach at the higher levels. But acrobatic gymnastics interests me a lot, because you don't have to deal with the complexities of apparatus.
How many hours a week do you train? And do you compete in any competitions? And are there any good websites I can check out? Sorry for all the questions, but I'm very curious about this!
By the way, I'm impressed that you started reading LOTR at age 10. I don't think I first read it until I was 13/14!

Wow, how many responses. Thanks to ALL of you!! I have some questions to answer… Rosie: Linda sent me an e-mail that this is a good site and I should join. You know anyone here even younger?? Raksha: Thank you! I think I will always be nervous when I have to write in English to someone who will notice every single mistake. Just wait till I am in rush and want to write something important…It will be terrible but I hope you will understand everything. I improved a lot since I read fanfics. They are very useful. And last but not least (this is how you say it, not?), Red: I cannot give you a prize, only send you mentally a HUGE hug!!! I currently work with two other girls(this means we are a women trio ). This is a very new group, we are together only for 3 months, so we were only in/at (I don’t know) one championship but we won!! So, I compete, yes. But this is different than what you do in the schools. If I knew how to, I could send you pictures. But if you want to see the pros, the real skillful ones, go to www.fig-gymnastics.com ,and there to acro, or www.sportsacrobatics.info As there is a camp now, I train four or five hours a day, five times a week. When there is school, it is 2 or 3 hours and only four times. Huh, I think I answered everything. Some of you asked about that single fanfic of mine. I am confused a bit. Where can I put it on? I mean: to which topic? It is a silly question, I know… Anyway, you can find it at fanfiction.net. Title: Night oft brings news to near kindred. It is mainly about Faramir but Boromir takes his part also. If you read it, please, review!

Hello Laerian, I have been on an errand in England that´s why I am so late to welcome you, especially because I am one of the other non-native speakers on this board. And since we have an English teacher here, we can learn a lot. *waves to RQ* You can post your story on the fanfiction board. Feel free to open a new thread for it in the fanfiction section and you will receive comments on that thread. If you feel more comfortable with posting a link, you can do it on the Shameless Self Promotion board.

Thanks. As you see I opened a new thread.
It’s good to see that there is at least someone else here who is not native speaker. But you write as if English would be your mother tongue!

I find the number of people on this board who have English as their second language and can still speak it fluently to be absolutely astonishing! You all are amazing!

It puts my English to shame, and I am English!! Hello to you laerian, welcome to the board. My daughter who is ten, goes to dance classes, where they do Acro, which sounds similar to what you train for

Oh, well, eggos, you mean that we can write it fluently. ;D At least it looks like if we could - you never know how long it takes to write such a two sentences post.
