Hello to everyone! My name is Lisa, but I go by lucidity in the fanfic world. I am very new to writing LOTR fics and Linda was kind enough to show me to your forum where I could get to know other LOTR writers and enthusiasts.
Most of my previous writing was in the Harry Potter fandom but with the advent of the most recent book my muse up and left me, leaving no forwarding address. I then decided to strike out into new territory.
My favorite characters are Faramir, Eomer, Elrond and mostly everyone else. I will read just about any kind of well-written fiction but love stories with an angsty or hurt/comfort bent.
I have only one LOTR fic posted at present at FF.net and it is of a hurt/comfort nature with Elrond and Faramir as the main characters. In my profile page there is a link to my profile page there.
I guess I've babbled on long enough! Hello to everyone and I hope to get to know you all soon!
Lisa

Hello and welcome! (*waves*) Always glad to meet another Potter fan in these parts—I dabbled a little (and very poorly at that) in the HP fandom myself before I rediscovered LotR. I hope you end up enjoying it as much as I have! ;D

Hi lucidity! I was invited by Linda too! ;D Though I love the HP books, I wouldn't be able to write fanfic about it. But hopefully, you can share your thoughts here about that universe as well! I hope you will find LotR stories as much fun as I do! Welcome here!

Hi, Lisa! Welcome to the board!
I've personally found that writing LOTR fanfiction is addictive. You might end up writing more...
Your story was certainly promising for a first effort. LOTR fanfic has its own challenges to write, particularly, as I see it, getting into a time/place/cultures that are very different from either Star Trek, Harry Potter, or our own...

Hello and welcome Lisa. It is always nice to meet new members. I never read a HP fanfiction. Do you want to post some here? We also have a discussion thread for the last book. It is password-protected, but you can always send me a PM to get the password. I hope you´ll make yourself comfortable.

Thank you all for the warm welcome!
I have read some of the fics written by the members here and they are phenomenal! You guys rock!
I'm not sure I'll post my HP fics anywhere else, Lily. They've all gone terribly, irrevocably AU since the last book. *sigh* I would say why but it would be a spoiler to those who may not have read the last book.
If anyone would have questions about writing in the HP fandom I'd be happy to help!

Hi Lisa. I don't know how I missed your thread - sorry. I just read your story on ff.net - it's lovely. Do you have any more planned?
Where in Penn. are you? I stayed with my penfriend in Pittsburgh before I got married - we went to Lancaster County, and also through Philadelphia.

Hi Rosie!
I am near the Maryland border in a small town called Chambersburg. It has the dubious distinction of being the only Northern town to have been burned during the Civil War.
Lancaster is lovely and we go to Pittsburgh often, since my mother-in-law lives there.
I'm currently writing a longer story that is more intrigue and, of course, Faramir angst. The main characters are Faramir, Aragorn and Elrond. After being inspired by Linda's gripping stories, I just had to grab myself some Aragorn. (He goes with just about anything.)
I am on chapter 4 of it but want to be pretty well into it before I post anything. I have been in a situation where I get stuck and feel bad that I leave people hanging.
I'm hoping to get more done soon, but it's slow going, although I'm pretty pleased with it so far.
Do you have fics posted?

Yes, I went through a phase of feeling compelled to write, but I haven't done anything for ages now. For some months now any creative juices I had seem to have dried up! I look forward to seeing your new one - I'll put an alert on your name, then I won't miss it.

Rosie, you know that I haven´t written anything for months as well. Now, that I am expected to write my part for the round robin story on the other board, I found out that it wasn´t so difficult to get started. Maybe you should just try - how about the round robin story here? It´s a pity that we don´t continue with it. The start was quite promising.

I'm a Northerner myself, but I've been trapped in the South for the past six years—and still feel out of place! And Rosie, I demand that you write more fic! "Reasons 2" and "The Happy Medium" are easily some of the most hysterical things I've ever read. ;D
