Is The Island worth a rental? How much is he in it? He's in it a substantial amount, I'd say. The movie itself is good fun—lots of explosions, car chases, and shattering glass. It starts to go a bit RotK towards the end, though... there are at least four places where I thought, "Surely, surely it must be over now?"

I almost got it from Blockbuster today, until I noticed that Capote came out as well...maybe next week!

So, television's been inundated with commercials for "Silent Hill" for the past few weeks, and so, out of curiosity, I went and looked up the film on IMDb ... and found out that omgwtf Sean Bean is in it. Well, who'da thunk? Was I the only person who didn't know this already? So now I'm in a conundrum. I think I may need to deploy a scout or two in order to ascertain whether Sean's role is droolworthy enough to counteract the other biological reactions I usually experience at scary films (i.e. spontaneous vomiting). IMDb also says that the new Sharpe season will be airing on BBC America in September in abridged form . Apparently he's also filming another TV series to be broadcast in the US... v. exciting. ;D

I heard about it somewhere, but have not heard much. Did it just come out?

I got this from a site called 'the futon critic'. FACELESS (FOX) - Paul Michael Glaser (Art Kirkland on USA's "Ladies Night") has joined the cast of the drama pilot, about a federal prosecutor (Sean Bean) who goes undercover as a criminal in order to take down a sprawling underworld organization. He'll play Bailey Hughes, the owner of a huge pornography empire, in the 20th Century Fox Television-based hour, which also stars Clifton Powell, Kevin Alejandro, Reed Diamond, Stana Katic and Yara Martinez. Dario Scardapane is behind the project, which Joe Carnahan is directing and executive producing alongside Flame Television's Daniel Rappaport, Evelyn O'Neill and Tony Krantz.
I guess it's not technically a movie, but a TV series. Yum. It sounds very good.

*is filled with glee* "Federal prosecutor", "Sean Bean", "undercover", and "criminal" all appeared in the same sentence. There's no way I'm missing this!

It does sound pretty good That name Reed Diamond sounds familiar. I bet he's been in something before. Brits can do American TV well, look at Hugh Laurie in 'House'. He's wonderful! ;D

I noticed that a movie of Sean Bean's has come out on DVD. It's called 'The Dark'. Has anyone heard of it? It looks like a horror movie.

Argh! Will that man lay off the horror movies already? The Compleat Sean Bean has more information on 'Faceless': Sean has been cast in the lead of Fox's undercover TV drama Faceless. He'll play heavy-set federal prosecutor John Robson - until he's beaten up and shot. After losing weight, Robson takes on a new identity and goes undercover as Eddie Pray to bring down a major crimelord.Heavy-set? I hate to see Sean get abused in these films, but if that's what it takes to make him lose weight...

The Dark is definitely a horror movie. Sean plays the father of a mentally ill daughter, if I remember correctly. The movie doesn´t seem to be very gory, but full of creepy apparitions.

He's wonderful! ;D Sorry to hijack The Bean's forum, but I just wanted to second Lucidity's recommendation of Hugh Laurie in the "House" series - he plays a nasty, cold-hearted-hardly-cares-about-anyone doctor who is nevertheless tops at diagnosing difficult life-threatening medical problems. Think a younger Denethor in a modern doctor's coat; because he also seems to read people's hearts and be scornfully superior about just about everything; and usually right. I can't detect his British origins at all.
The show is in its second season; I believe that the first-season is out on dvd; though I don't know if it's available in European formats.

I adored Hugh Laurie from way back when he did the hilarious Black Adder series for British TV. His American accent is quite good. ;D I wonder what Sean's accent will sound like? OOH, maybe Sean will move here, if the show does well...One can always hope. But then again, I have heard he adores his football. Men!
