FotR: Very Old Friends
(Begins with Gandalf knocking on door of Bilbo’s house)
I always chuckle when Gandalf bangs his head on the rafter.
This scene has more added but I’m nor sure where. I think it’s expanded dialog with Bilbo and Gandalf. It’s telling that Bilbo keeps sticking his fingers in his waistcoat pocket, like he’s unconsciously stroking the ring or just making sure it’s still there.

I think the most interesting things are Gandalf´s line about Bilbo´s not having aged a day and also Bilbo´s description of his state of mind. He feels old and stretched out. We see Gandalf how he is alerted by these words, but at that stage we don´t know why.
