I just took this test and much to my surprise scored 96% ! similarminds.com/intdoor-verbal.htmlYour overall percentile is 96% which means you scored higher than 96% of the people who have taken this test. The internet population tends to be more intelligent so your percentile might be higher if the test taking sample was perfectly random. Keep in mind, taking this test more than once will render your percentile score inaccurate because the percentile scoring assumes these questions were fresh to the test taker.I would love to know how others get on.

God, that is really tough!!! There were 45x2 words, and I had a faint idea about the meaning of four or five...

I got a 54 % percentile, but there was a lot of guessing involved, as it didn´t let me leave out the words I didn´t know.

I was very surprised to get such a high score,as I found them difficult and felt dismayed I knew so little of my native language.

I got 94%, which is interesting, since there were several words I'd never heard of and some that I'd seen but couldn't remember the meaning. I think that there's a trick involved in some of the questions; but I'm not sure.
I don't think that vocabulary knowledge is the end-all and be-all of intelligence. If it had been math, I'd have been lucky to get 40%....

I'd never heard of several words either. It seems our scores are as near identical as makes no matter. I doubt I'd get 10% in a maths test. I did Tickle's IQ test and it said my strongest point was words.I agree there.

I didn't realise I was so good at guessing.

Since this is only going to get more depressing, I will reveal that my score was a lowly 80%. In my defense I've never been much of a guesser!

Hi Gang -
I haven't been here in awhile, so I came to say hello and....took the test. Whew, it was tough. Like Linda, I got a 96%. How is it that I had such a good score when I didn't know the definition of at least a third of the words. Well, as a young'in I took Latin and still remember what some of the Latin prefixes and suffixes mean. So that helped. The other answer is, I took some educated guesses that turned out to be right. After all, with three options, your chances of a correct guess is one in three.
I'm not surprised at all the high scores for us on this board. An 80% is nothing to be ashamed of. I hate to think of what the average score for most Americans would be on this test--probably much lower than the rest of the English speaking countries. I'm not US bashing here, but the quality of our education system has really sunk. Off my soap box now.
- Steff
